of Greatness

At API we understand the highly influential role that music plays in the lives and development of our culture and children. Sadly many educational institutions have no current funding for music programs and do not offer certain music courses as before. We would like to offer beginning guitar classes to those interested in learning to play as it is our desire to help develop the musical gifts and talents of boys from underserved, economically challenged communities who may desire to pursue music. We will initially begin with those age ten and above. Our desired goal is to offer voice, sight reading, and other classes; potentially housing a full music and arts academy in the near future.
The Ambassador Project International, Inc. (API) fully believes that each young man has gifts and talents that must be cultivated and lead to their purpose. We will accomplish our goals with the following two programs.
PROGRAMS
API will equip and empower young men from single-mother-led homes to cultivate healthy self-esteem. We
recognize our culture's tremendous pressure on image
and appearance and see this as an opportunity. We plan
to use personal grooming and wardrobe to engage and
teach successful life principles. API will provide age-
appropriate grooming kits and training for young men to
help them learn proper self-care. The training will teach
things like how to tie a necktie, shave properly, good skin
care, hygiene, and more. We will weave life principles
into the training that will help boost confidence and self-
affirmation. We call this course "Becoming a SWAG
Ambassador"
SWAG AMBASSORS
We wholeheartedly believe in music's ability to help
develop emotional and cognitive skills. Research has
demonstrated that music has many benefits in developing the mind, will, and emotions. For instance,
research proves that youth who participate in music education have better math and academic scores. They also demonstrate a greater degree of positive behavior, including punctuality, follow-through and completing tasks. They have a higher propensity to participate in groups and have less absenteeism in school and other activities.
We also realize that having access to a musical instrument can be difficult for an economically challenged
home. Therefore, we will provide acoustic guitars and lessons to those wanting to pursue music education. The initial course will be called "The Ambassador's Lab-1
introductory guitar course". API will partner with local music organizations that work with school-aged children as we complete our plans to open our music academy
Upon successfully completing the program, the participants can own the instrument.
